Jonathan Wu
CEO and Founder

Jonathan is a graduate of Columbia University with a degree in Computer Science. He previously worked in the financial services industry, including at hedge funds such as Avenue Capital Group, before founding ValuePenguin. ValuePenguin CEO Jonathan Wu is a regular contributor to Motley Fool and MarketWatch.

Ting Pen

Ting graduated from Georgetown University with a background in Accounting and Finance. Before founding ValuePenguin, she was a financial analyst at Citigroup evaluating corporate mergers & acquisitions.

Brian Quinn

Prior to founding ValuePenguin, Brian worked in the financial services industry as an Associate at NASDAQ OMX and a Risk Analyst at Avenue Capital Group. Brian is a graduate of the University of Dayton, where he studied Finance and Accounting.

Matthew Pflueger
Chief Technical Officer

Matthew is a senior technologist with over fifteen years experience writing backend systems for a wide range of domains. He graduated with a degree in Computer Science from California State University Chico and later with a Master's of Business Administration from Otto Beisheim School of Management in Germany. Matthew has previously developed whole platforms for early stage companies and is passionate about guiding engineering teams to reach their full potential.

Robert Harrow
Analyst - Credit Cards

Robert covers the credit card industry, developing research and interactive tools to educate consumers on their many options. His expertise has been featured on Time.com and Mainstreet.com. He is also a regular contributor to The Huffington Post. Prior to working at ValuePenguin, Robert researched cancer imaging and treatment laser systems at CUNY Hunter College. He graduated with a major in Physics and minor in Mathematics from Hunter.

Rebecca Wessell

Rebecca helps develop ValuePenguin's business strategy and writes for the Datablog. She is a graduate of Syracuse University where she received a master's in Information Management. Prior to joining ValuePenguin, she was a consultant at Ernst & Young, specializing in data governance and financial services.

Michael Thrasher
Analyst - Insurance

Michael reports on the insurance industry looking at how new developments will impact the insurance carriers and consumers. He is also responsible for content and research educating consumers on how to navigate homeowners and renters insurance policies. His work has been featured in other publications including Venturebeat. Before joining ValuePenguin, Michael covered major retail brands at Business Insider and crime at The Athens Messenger. Michael is a graduate of Ohio University, where he studied Literature.

Andrew Pentis
Careers & Data

Andrew develops ValuePenguin's Careers section, writes for the Datablog and collaborates on the site's in-depth and visual content while serving as one of the PR team's spokesmen. Before joining the company, he served as a digital editor for the San Francisco 49ers and Major League Baseball Advanced Media. He is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, where he was named a Jim Murray Memorial Scholar. His work has also appeared in 25-plus publications, including Men's Journal, ESPN The Magazine and Yahoo.
